  • Bristow has a very handsome headpiece and super slick inky black coat.
  • His greatest asset is his pause gait - which has, unfortunately, become a rarity in this breed. This gait is reminiscent of his grand-uncle "Tre" and one that once seen is unmistakable. For those who may have never seen a pause gait before, it is notable because it is the epitome of efficiency.
    To quote our Standard: First paragraph (the most important "soundbite" of any Standard) "elegant and graceful"... "effortless" gait.... Again quoting the "Gait" paragraph of our Standard: "Swift, tireless trot. Stride is long, smooth, effortless and the topline remains level." The pause gait - a rare quality of movement is seen only when all four feet are off the ground simultaneously (as in perfect balance fore and aft), AND the dog appears to actually float seemingly to defy gravity as the footfall gracefully touches ground again in perfect rhythm stride after stride.
  • After being major pointed, Bristow was awarded 2nd of 12 in the competitive Open Black and White dog class at the 2006 BCOA National Specialty
  • Awarded Best of Breed and Group 4 under noted hound specialist Betty-Anne Stenmark in very stiff breed and hound competition
