Welcome to Taji Ibizan Hounds!

Hi! I am Katie Campbell, and I love Ibizan Hounds. I delight in the history of this breed of antiquity and their unrelenting charm. I've been involved exhibiting and then breeding Ibizan Hounds since 1993 when I had the good fortune to meet and befriend Susan Fegan of Gryphon Ibizan Hounds. My primary breed has been Basenjis yet I've always had interest in other sighthound breeds. Susan had founded the wire hair Ibizans in the United States and bred very sound moving dogs that I enjoyed showing for her when she was in a "handling dilemma". And so our friendship began. I've since bred a handful of litters that have proved themselves in the ring, on the fields, as well as rally-o. I've also served the Ibizan Hound Club of the United States as the President, Vice-President, and Board Member. I've also judged the National Sweepstakes in both the USA and Canada.

My dear friend and Ibizan Hound mentor, Susan Fegan, passed away November 20, 2010. I'm grateful to have had such a treasured friendship and alliance with her. Without doubt, she was an artful, responsible and talented master breeder. The Ibizan Fancy has incurred a tremendous loss. I miss her. Many thanks to all who helped with rehoming Susan's dogs and archiving her photos and notes, as well as every member of the Twin Peaks Ibizan Hound Club - an inclusive, supportive, and functional community that Sue founded here in Western Washington.
